For the Tomahawk Leader
RHINELANDER – Nicolet College is offering a class to help individuals start their own businesses.
In a release, Nicolet said those who enroll in its eight-week Start Your Own Business class will “learn the fundamentals to success and discover the tools to explore the world of being an entrepreneur.”
The class will be held in the evenings at Nicolet College’s Rhinelander campus every Tuesday from Sept. 16 through Nov. 4.
Nicolet said business instructor Alan Toliver will “lead aspiring entrepreneurs on a journey of discovery and answers.”
“Toliver, a certified public accountant who holds a master’s degree in business administration, will introduce side hustlers and aspiring or early-stage business owners to the tools to launch or scale up their business,” Nicolet stated.
“This class is for anyone with a business idea that has passion and drive,” Toliver said.
During the class, learners will get one-on-one mentorship, develop launch-ready business plans, establish a pitch to secure funding or promote their business and create a clear action plan and startup roadmap, according to Nicolet.
“Education can be a shortcut to success for aspiring business owners,” said Ellen Mathein, Dean of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nicolet College. “By learning basic business knowledge and skills before they dive into the deep end, business owners can lessen the early growing pains that many experience during start-up or scaling.”
